HI Everyone!

On the eve of the Ravens winning the Superbowl and bringing the Lombardi Trophy to Baltimore, BANTRAK did it's February N Trak set up at the Great Scale show at Timonium. We packed into a 50 x 70 area four layouts. These consisted of a 24 x 28 foot N trak layout and three T Trak layouts (2 main line layouts and one mass transit). Nes-tled in with this was our company store and members reticulating stuff that had lived in the basement for a long time. Set up for the layout started at 12 on Friday and ended at 7.30 PM.

The shape of the N Trak layout was rather simple. It was a straight rectangle. Tables were kept away from the main layout. This insured that all four sides of the layout could be seen by the public. Modules that were in the N trak layout were provided by Tim, Martin, Skip, Matt Whiting, Al Del Gaudio, Al Potter. Mat Chibbaro, David Clyde, Eric and the Hyland clan. The T Trak layout had a large turn out, so the decision was made to break it up into three layouts. These were made up of one large mainline loop made up of the Hyland Clan's modules and Conrail Ed.. The second was another large main-line U shaped layout that was made up of David Clyde's modules, Jeff Peck, Leon, and Matt G-L. The third layout was made up of street trackage and subway modules used as a mass transit style layout.

On the whole the layouts seemed to run well. The event itself was large enough that it was impossible to go into great detail as to who ran what trains during the two days, except to say that there were no pile ups on the line. The show itself was rather busy on Satur-day with everyone trying to see the show before Sunday. Sunday was rather quiet and we retired and were gone by 4 pm so that everyone could catch the game.

Even though I have been doing N Trak for close to 17 years now, been a board member of a club, and have hauled modules over tons of locations, I have never put one of these things together. I would like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to do so. It is definitely different from putting together T Trak layouts. I would also like to thank Martin for the much needed work of getting the lay-out to run electrically. David Clyde for hauling the trailer and provid-ing a good chunk of the T Trak layout, to my fellow coordinator, John Hale, and Al Del Gaudio for helping with the design of the layout.
